Mai Chau Lodge and Hiking Adventure

Summary

Mai Chau is Vietnam's secret alternative to Sapa. This trip to the highlands of Vietnam's Mai Chauregion (pronounced My Chow), offers a mix of culture and adventure set amongst some of Vietnam’s most stunning scenery - limestone mountains covered in thick, lush vegetation, green rice paddies and corn fields, plumes of bamboo groves, tea plantations and waterfalls.

Base yourself at the boutique Mai Chau Lodge for three nights in addition to spending a further two nights staying in ethnic minority villages. Hike through villages of the H’mong, Thai, Dzao people for an average of five hours a day for an indepth experience of Mai Chau & Vietnam's ethnic minority hill tribes, where you will notice different styles of housing amongst the various tribes and watch families (wearing their traditional, intricately embroidered clothing) plough their fields using water buffalos. It is like going back in time when visiting Mai Chau. Vietnam has many hidden jewels and Mai Chau is highly recommended by Little Vietnam  Tours' for both adventure, cultural immersion and relaxation.

Highlights

  • Getting away from the crowds and experiencing a quiet, less travelled route

  • Staying in local homestays, meeting with the villagers, trekking through stunning countryside and learning about Vietnamese and ethnic minority lifestyles

  • Relaxing in Mai Chau Lodge, equipped with a swimming pool, sauna, giant spa, restaurant serving delicious traditional cuisine and much more

Good for...

  • Anyone active (don't need to be super fit), great for families and young at heart!

  • The homestays are pretty basic (but clean) with mattresses on the floor, drop hole toilets and cold showers. This is an experience and one you will never forget but its not for anyone expecting luxury. If you like your creature comforts then please have a look at our Mai Chau Lodge break which doesn't involve roughing it!

What previous clients have to say about this trip (see more testimonials)

Excellent in all areas of tourism and communication. A fantastic way to make the most of our time in this beautiful part of Vietnam. This was a great family experience that I would recommend to other travellers. Thank you.
