Conveniently located on Dong Khoi Street in the heart of the city centre, the Continental is within an easy walking distance to Ben Thanh Market and the city's main tourist attractions. The Continetal Hotel was many famous writers and artists' haunts including Briton Graham Greene who wrote "the Quiet American", a book about the warning days of French Indochina and the beginning of the American presence in Vietnam. The hotel, after the last renovation, still retains its attractive colonial facade. The lobby is grand with shiny ceramic floor, huge chandeliers, inlayed table and chairs. The fittings are not really appropriate with its architecture, unluckly.
The Continental Hotel has 83 guest rooms. All are spacious with high ceiling, wooden furniture, windown or balconies with garden/city views. Bathrooms are large with bathtub and shower. Continental Hotel has two restaurants. Continental Palace Retaurant, better and more in keeping with the French Colonial design, serves international food. The Venezia Ristorante features Italian cuisine. 2/Room Amenities
