The original hotel was built by a French company in 1956 when it overlooked the Place Garnier, now Lam Son Square and the classic Opera House. At the time, it was an unimpressive 10-storey rectangular block with a rounded corner. In 1998, the hotel was renovated and expanded with much better design and now it's an extremely attractive, efficient, and well-appointed place in the town.
Caravelle Hotel has 335 spacious and well-equipped rooms and Suites. All are furnished with modern décor and Brazilian teakwood furniture, marbled floor bathrooms. Signature Suites is with floor to ceiling bay windows offering spectacular views of the Opera House. Some has two bedrooms, open living room and mini kitchen. The Caravelle has two restaurants. Reflections Restaurant specialises in Western cuisine. A selection of fine wines, beers and drinks are also available. Restaurant Nineteen located on the ground floor, overlooking the main entrance and the Opera house on the ground floor level emphasised on local dishes.
