:> Cao Dai Holy See
Cao Dai literally means high tower or palace, a metaphor for the spender of spiritual growth. It is combination of Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Confucianism, Hinduism, Geniism, and Taoism. The central philosophy of Caodaism pertains to the duty that the faithful perform for themselves, their family, society and the world at large. Much like Confucianism, this element of the Philosophy pertains to how the individual functions within the context of the community. And like the Buddhism, the higher members of the temple are vegetarian and must remain so.

Lower-ranked followers must be vegetarian for 10 days out of each month. Four ceremonies are held every day at 6am, noon, 6pm and midnight.

Established the Southern regions of Vietnam in the early 1920's, the religion was officially codified in 1926. The functioning center of Caodaism is located in Tay Ninh province. The temple was built between 1933 and 1955. It is 140 meters long and 40 meters wide. It has 4 towers each with a different name: Tam Dai, Hiep Thien Dai, Cuu Trung Dai, and Bat Quai Dai. The interior of the temple consists of a colonnaded hall and a sanctuary. The 2 rows of columns are decorated with dragons and are coated in white, red, and blue paint. The domed ceiling is divided into 9 parts similar to a night sky full of stars and symbolizing heaven. Under the dome is a giant star-speckled blue globe on which is painted the Divine Eye, the official symbol of Caodaism.

> Ba Den Mountain (Black Virgin Mountain)
Nui Ba Den is montane isolated in the lowland, 11 kilometers northeast of Tay Ninh as if it is waiting for someone. Nui Ba Den looks like a dormant volcano approximately 986 meters above sea level, towering over the whole province. Perched on the mountain slope is Van Son Pagoda which faces a big lake nearby. The ascending and zigzag path to the mountain peak is crowned with many beautiful natural phenomena. Standing high on the mountain you can see the faraway Cau mountain peak to the east and Heo and Phung mountain peaks to the Northwest.

Lying scattered in the mountain are some picturesque grottoes and caves. The Black Lady Mountain is a natural treasury, to the Tay Ninh people.

As the local legend, Ba Den was to marry a soldier, but on her wedding day her fiancé went to war and never returned. Ba Den waited, grieved and cried herself to death and when she died she became the mountain. A Buddhist pagoda shrine was built on the summit in memory of her faithfulness and devotion. After her death, the Nguyen Dynasty ordered a mould of her to be cast in black bronze, which started the legend of the Black Virgin Mountain. Centuries ago the Black Lady Mountain became the place of worship for the regional population.
